Salt Lake City doesn’t always get the wildest shows on the tour circuits, but when Remi Wolf hit The Union Event Center on Tuesday night, she blew the roof off, painted it neon, and set it ablaze. Touring on her new album Big Ideas, the California-based pop disruptor delivered a set that was as heartfelt as it was chaotic, leaving the crowd sweaty, smiling, souls healed, and wondering what just happened—in the best way possible.

Snow Patrol is a band that I have had on my list of bands I’d love to cover for quite some time.  On Mar 28, 2025, I was finally able to cross Gary Lightbody and the fellas off that list.  Snow Patrol played a hit-filled show at The Union Events Center in Salt Lake City on their North American Tour.  I was so excited to not only be in the photo pit for the first three songs but to watch this band perform.

Friday nights are always a sacred time of the week. It’s the beginning of the weekend, and for most people, it can be the end of a long and hard week. On the night of March 28th, this particular Friday night, the place to be was at The Depot to catch Saint Motel on their Symphony in the Sky tour. With a sold-out show and plenty of fans lining up early to get into the show, there were already signs of this being a fantastic show before the doors even opened. Once doors opened at 7 PM sharp, it wasn’t long until the venue was completely filled. This was going to be a night to remember.

The rock and roll band, The Backfires, and the indie band, Mercury, put on an incredible show at Kilby Court. The band’s energy lit up the whole venue. Both bands were super supportive of each other and were grateful to be able to play the show in SLC and very excited to share their music with the SLC crowd. The crowd might have been on the smaller side; however, they really brought great energy to the show.

Last week at The Union Event Center, Foster the People played a loooong-awaited headline show on their Paradise State of Mind tour, returning to Salt Lake City after 7 years! I was really stoked to see them for the first time! They’ve been a staple band for me since I was in middle school, and I know many people who attended were probably also seeing them for the first time. They just released their 4th album last summer, ‘Paradise State of Mind’. This one is such a feel-good, psychedelic, and pure Foster the People-sounding record.

Lauren Mayberry

I have found that whenever a vocalist in a band decides to go solo, things can go one of two ways.  They create something interesting, and enjoyable and I become a fan of their work outside of the band from where I know them. The other is they try too hard to be different from the music we know them from. Or they aren’t able to put an album of songs together without their bandmates that their fans can connect with enough.  I can understand the desire to try to make your own music and create an album trying different styles and techniques.  It can be a risk, but I can’t blame an artist for wanting to do that.  I personally enjoyed Lauren’s debut solo album, Vicious Creature.  It was exciting to see that Mayberry announced a show in Salt Lake City.  I couldn’t wait to hear these songs live.
