If you’re a fan of alternative rock, then you know that Young the Giant is one of the best bands around. On Thursday, August 3, fans were able to rock out with Young the Giant at The Great Saltair in Magna, Utah. With Milky Chance and Rosa Linn opening, it was an unforgettable evening of music and energy that had the crowd dancing and singing along all night. It was truly an amazing experience that no fan of Young the Giant should miss.

Sitting along the shores of the Great Salt Lake in Magna, Utah, The Great Saltair provided an interesting backdrop for an incredible night of music with Young the Giant. Known for its unique architecture and breathtaking views, this historic venue created an ambiance unlike any other.

As fans made their way through the gates, they were greeted with a stunning view of the lake, adding to the anticipation and excitement in the air. The venue itself, with its grand columns and open-air design, exuded a sense of grandeur that only enhanced the concert experience.

Inside, the main stage was set against a backdrop of twinkling lights, creating a magical atmosphere as the sun set over the lake. The sound quality was great, allowing every note and lyric to be heard with absolute clarity.

The spacious patio area outside the venue doors provided ample room for fans to spread out, dance, and sing along to their favorite songs. From the front row to the back, there was not a bad spot in the house.  Ensuring that everyone had a great view of the stage.

The Great Saltair staff was friendly and accommodating, making sure of a smooth entry and a comfortable experience throughout the night. The venue also offered a variety of food and beverage options, allowing fans to refuel and stay energized for the duration of the concert. Overall, The Great Saltair provided the perfect setting for an unforgettable evening of music.  

As the anticipation built and the crowd filled The Great Saltair, it was time for the opening acts to take the stage and set the tone for the unforgettable night ahead. Milky Chance and Rosa Linn did not disappoint.

Rosa Linn

Rosa Linn took the stage and brought a soulful and dynamic performance. Her powerful vocals and commanding stage presence captivated the audience. Her original songs showcased her unique sound and left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.

Milky Chance followed with their infectious blend of indie pop and folk. The German duo’s energetic performance had the crowd immediately hooked. Their hits like “Stolen Dance” and “Cocoon” had everyone singing along and dancing in unison. The chemistry between the band members felt so authentic, and their genuine enthusiasm for performing was obvious.

Both opening acts did an incredible job of warming up the crowd and setting the stage for Young the Giant. They brought their own unique styles and energy to the stage, creating an electric atmosphere that continued to build throughout the night.

Overall, the opening acts added an extra layer of excitement and anticipation to the concert. Milky Chance and Rosa Linn set the bar high, proving that the night was going to be filled with incredible music and unforgettable performances. I can see both returning to Utah on their own headlining tours and doing very well.

Young the Giant

As the clock struck 9pm, the crowd erupted into cheers and applause as the lights dimmed and the familiar chords of Young the Giant’s opening song filled the air. The band burst onto the stage with an energy that was palpable, instantly capturing the attention of everyone in the venue. The lead singer, Sameer Gadhia, commanded the stage with his powerful vocals and magnetic stage presence, captivating the audience from the very first note.

From the moment they started playing, it was clear that Young the Giant was in their element. They flawlessly performed song after song, with each one resonating through the crowd and eliciting an enthusiastic response. Their sound was even better live than on their studio recordings, showcasing their incredible talent and musicianship.

Young the Giant also had a  chemistry that was evident as they seamlessly moved together, feeding off each other’s energy and playing off the crowd’s excitement. The crowd sang along to every lyric, their voices blending harmoniously with the band’s infectious melodies. The energy in the room was electric, and it seemed like everyone in the audience was completely immersed in the music.

Throughout their set, Young the Giant treated the crowd to a mix of their biggest hits and fan favorites. Songs like “Cough Syrup,” “My Body,” and “Apartment” had the entire crowd jumping and dancing with unbridled joy. The band’s passion for their music was infectious, and it was impossible not to get swept up in the sheer euphoria of their performance.

As the set drew to a close, the crowd erupted into thunderous applause and cheers, begging for an encore. Young the Giant obliged, returning to the stage for a few more songs that left the audience on an even higher note than before. They brought the night towards its end with a breathtaking performance of “Silvertongue,” leaving everyone in awe of their incredible talent. The show ended with “My Body”.  The crowd was going crazy.  People were jumping and just completely losing it as they sang along with the chorus.  It’s was a perfect ending to the show. 

Young the Giant’s performance was nothing short of exceptional. Their stage presence, musical prowess, and connection with the audience created an experience that will be etched in the memory of every fan in attendance. If you ever have the opportunity to see Young the Giant live, do not hesitate – it is an experience you will not want to miss.
