Sum 41 stopped by the great state of Utah this last week for what appears to be for the last time on the 10th of September. They brought along some amazing bands as well as performed their last show here in Utah. The event was at the complex in downtown SLC. The venue usually has two stages that they use indoors but for this one, they were able to have a fun house so they were outside. This was my first time attending a concert there when it was outside and it was a pleasant experience.

Rise Against & The Used w/ Senses Fail July 26, 2022 The Lot at The Complex

Despite the heat, fans lined the street outside The Complex just in time for Senses Fail to open for The Used and Rise Against this past Tuesday. Going into this concert I was pretty excited because I haven’t seen a concert set up on the outside stage at The Complex yet. So I was intrigued to see the stage setup. To my surprise, fans filled the outside lot all the way to the entry gate.

Circle Jerks

It wasn’t hard to tell what kind of show you were walking into on the evening of St. Patrick’s Day. The patched jean jackets, piercings, and tattoos were uncountable outside as circle jerks summoned the old punks and the new generation of the straight edge population of Salt Lake to The Complex. The crowd, ready to start the pit and buzzing with excitement filtered in. With a mad dash to the merch booth blocking the door. This dedication to the scene and vibe of old-school punk was held through the night.

Celebrating 21 Years of Really Bad Luck with Bayside

Reviewed by Vanessa Holt

What started off with what was supposed to be 20 years of bad luck quickly turned into 21 years of REALLY bad luck. With the tour being originally planned for 2020 but thanks to the pandemic the band postponed and rescheduled the tour. What’s one more year? After a whole year’s wait, I was excited to finally see this tour happen.  It was one of the best put together tours I’ve seen. From the concept of this tour leading to the setlist and the lineup.

This is a tour that fans have waited well over a year for.,New Found Glory’s headlining, “Pop Punk’s Still Not Dead” tour, and within that year it’s been one crazy ride! From rescheduling the entire tour due to COVID to Simple Plan dropping from the lineup and finding the replacement of Less Than Jake, it’s safe to say things have not gone quite as planned. However, the struggles don’t stop there. It was one eventful night in Salt Lake City.

Sabroso Taco Festival April 27, 2019 Utah State Fairpark

By Kasey Capanna

This was the first Sabroso Festival in Utah.  The show is usually based in California so I was excited to see that they were touring the Fest and bringing it to Utah.  I’d say it was a huge success. There were a lot of people at the fairgrounds. The food and drink lines were never short. I was hoping to get a taste of the tacos, but I really didn’t want to miss any of the bands or the lucha libre wrestling.  So I stayed away from the lines. The food must have been really good because one taco cart actually ran out of meat! The crowd seemed to really enjoy the festival. Here’s hoping that Sabroso Festival in Utah is a continuing tradition. Here are some photos of the bands and the festival with a brief rundown on everything that went on.
