Logic October 15, 2019, Maverik Center

It’s no surprise that Logic is one of the biggest rappers in the game at the moment. Everywhere you go, you can hear someone listening to him. So it was no surprise when I got to the Maverik Center that the line from the door was wrapping down the stairs and around the arena. Fans of all ages stood in line with friends, bumping Logic on their speakers. You can tell everyone was getting hyped. Once doors opened, the merchandise stand flooded, so did the concession stands. Everyone that had GA tickets rushed the floor to get a good spot and as close to the stage as possible. The nice thing about arena concerts if you’re not GA is that you can still walk around, get comfortable, grab some food to eat, get your merch and just head to your seats when the show starts. But even if you are GA, it’s such a large floor, you’re bound to get a good start.

Tobi Lou September 17, 2019, Kilby Court

Tuesday Night in Salt Lake City brought out dedicated fans to see fast-rising rapper, Tobi Lou. Kilby Court was buzzing and you could feel the excitement of hip hop fans eager to see the new but very talented artist. I had seen Tobi perform as an opener for KYLE about a year ago and was excited to see him headline for the first time.

Friday night found many Utahns gathered together at the Vivint Smart Home Arena to attend the show of one of the most well known R&B artists in the world, Chris Brown on the third stop of his Indigoat tour.

Underground Railroad Tour Featuring Zion I & Equipto July 4, 2019, The Cabin

Underground Hip Hop is an interesting art form and Zion I seems to represent the genre to the fullest.  With the ability of the public to pay for individual songs, rather than having to buy an entire album, it is imperative that artists of all genres tour consistently to remain relevant and connect with their fans.  Luckily, Oakland, California’s Zion I were already reaching the 10,000 hour mark (Malcolm Gladwell) of touring when album sales began to plummet, so their live show is definitely dialed-in.
