This last week, the musical group Pink Martini made their way to Salt Lake City, Utah to celebrate 30 years of music with all in attendance at Red Butte Garden. Those lucky enough to be in the crowd were treated to a lively and exciting multicultural night of music and dancing. As the clock stuck 7:00 and with no accompanying supporting group, Pink Martini, backlit with pink skies, made their way to the stage. Cheers and screams let the band know they were in the presence of fans.

Lamb of God and Mastodon embarked on their North American co-headliner, stopping at the Great Saltair in Salt Lake City on 8/27/24 to celebrate not only the release of both their albums (Ashes of The Wake – Lamb of God) – (Leviathan _ Mastodon) that were put out on the exact same day 20 years ago but that both bands are still taking the stage and giving it their all every single night just like they have for the past 20 years.

Under the SLC skyline in the heart of the city sits the Gallivan Center, the venue for the SLC Twilight Concert Series. Alex G was the headliner with Julie and Cannibal Queen as openers for the end-of-season sold-out show. This cozy venue nestled downtown felt so welcoming and warm, everyone was ecstatic to be there. While walking into the venue, people all around were scouting out for their perfect spot to see the stage. Some climbed to sit atop the bridge surrounded by grass, others sat on barricades and railings in between VIP and GA.

For everyone living in Salt Lake City, we all are aware of how hot this summer has been but one event truly sizzled: SLC Twilight. My first ever show for UCR was for Rina Sawayama, capping off last year’s remarkable summer lineup. This year’s lineup was nothing short of incredible, with performances from Laufey, Watchouse, Jungle, and The Marias. The plethora of talent made for an unforgettable summer. I was thrilled to cover The Marias capping off this summer’s SLC Twilight Concert Series.

On a warm summer evening, the setting of the Red Butte Garden Amphitheater was electrified by a night of Rockabilly and Country music. Stray Cats took the stage with support from The Midnight Cowgirls. The natural beauty of the amphitheater, nestled against the foothills with its lush gardens and panoramic views, provided a unique contrast to the high-energy performances that followed.
