Back in January, Collective Soul frontman Ed Roland revealed to the audience at The Union Events Center in downtown Salt Lake City that Collective Soul would be heading on tour for the summer with their contemporaries, the band Live.  The crowd reacted much the same as I did, excited and already anticipating what that tour would be like.  They were joined by Our Lady Peace on what has been titled, “The Summer Unity Tour.”  It was another hot night at Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre, but fans of the late 90s early 2000s showed up to see these bands do their thing.

Country Music singer, Cody Johnson, brought his “Leather Deluxe Tour” to Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre on Saturday, Jun 28, 2025.  He brought Wade Bowen and Mae Estes along with him.  The last time we covered CoJo was back in February 2020, just weeks before the world shut down due to the pandemic.  He was opening for Country Music superstar Miranda Lambert at the Delta Center in downtown Salt Lake City.  I remember enjoying his energetic performance.  He set the bar high for Miranda, and it made for a great night of Country Music.

There’s something so cool about seeing a musician along the journey of their career go from supporting other artists on their tours to headlining their own tour.  I was happy for Cody Johnson that his career has gone the way it’s gone.  He not only brought his headlining tour to one of Utah’s largest concert venues, but he sold the place out!  I’ve said this before, and I’ll most likely say it every time I attend a Country concert, but there is nothing like the vibe at this type of show.  People were in great spirits. Everyone seemed to be having a good time.  And this was in between sets!  I’m sure you can imagine what it was like when the music was actually being played.  I was happy to be at Utah First Amp for this show.

On October 11th, the Utah First Amphitheatre was treated to night one of three shows by Imagine Dragons. The band is technically from Las Vegas, but we here in Utah know that they wrote many of their early hits and gained a large following here in Utah. More specifically Provo, Utah often performing at Velour Live Music Gallery. From that time on, Utah has been an area that has been most loyal to Imagine Dragons. Hence the multi-show residency.

Post Malone started his F-1 Trillion Tour right here in his hometown SLC, Utah. He did a two-day stint and both days were packed. Seems the first show on Sunday was busier but not by much. I was able to shoot the images of the artists on Sunday the 8th and then I had the opportunity to view the show on the 9th. I will include both of Post Malone’s setlists. There was a slight variation on each night. Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre holds a max capacity of 25,000, so the energy was high for both nights.

I had the privilege of covering Allison Russell’s set as she joined Hozier for his sold-out stop on the Unreal Earth Tour at Utah First Credit Union Amphitheater on August 31st. This highly sought-after show had thousands of eager fans lined up throughout the expansive parking lot and there was even a huge line at the less popular south entrance! With people queued up like that, one couldn’t help but expect that the show was going to be great if that many fans were coming to spend their Saturday night there!

It was good to be back at Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre (Formerly USANA Ampitheatre).  The night before we were in attendance for the Utah return of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.  And while the vibe was completely different, the excitement level was comparable.  The great Sarah McLachlan brought her Fumbling Towards Ecstacy 30th Anniversary Tour to Utah and people were in a celebratory mood. The majority of the crowd arrived early to hang out, grab a bite or a drink, and socialize.  Fans were ready for a night of great music with some incredible voices.

On Wednesday, June 5 the Red Hot Chili Peppers brought their Unlimited Love tour to Utah’s First Amphitheatre. It was no surprise that the show quickly sold out. Utah fans have waited 18 long years for the band to return. Their last concert in Utah was in 2006, Their performance was the 3rd to last concert at the original Delta Center before the name changed to Energy Solutions Arena. I found it interesting that their long-awaited return to Utah marked the 3rd concert at the newly named Utah First Amphitheatre (formerly USANA Amphitheatre.)
