Laufey’s “Bewitched” tour made its way to SLC last Wednesday with indie star Adam Melchor joining her for a sold-out performance at The Depot. While the venue itself was on the smaller-side, the main floor quickly filled up at the start of the night as audience members dashed to the front to get a better view of the stage. On a number of occasions, security guards had to remind eager teens to stay in line and walk.

The concert opens with an electric energy. The trio, Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy, and Jess Carson, moseyed onto the stage and effortlessly connected with the audience. Mark Wystrach’s charismatic stage presence, coupled with his rich and soulful vocals, set the tone for an evening filled with genuine emotion and raw talent. The chemistry between the band members is evident, creating a tight-knit musical unit that resonates with the crowd.

Saturday, September 23rd, was a brisk night at USANA Amphitheatre when the legendary music icon Sting brought his “My Songs” tour to Utah. He drew in a crowd of his most loyal fans for an awesome night of live music. The cool weather was a sign that the outdoor concert season was coming to an end. Sting’s performance was an exciting addition to the incredible lineup USANA had this year.

Out of all of the places Jake Scott could’ve picked to hold an album release show, he chose Utah! Jake loves Utah, and Utah loves Jake, so it was the perfect place for his new album, “Lavender,” to be played live for the first time! Fans packed out Sandy Amphitheater on Saturday, October 14th for the show. The first time that I saw Jake Scott was at Sandy Amphitheater last May when he opened for Ben Rector, so I found it extra special that he was back at the same venue, only this time, he was headlining it!

I’d never really thought about what exactly shaped me into the “concert junkie” that I am today, but as I made my way to the Maverik Center on October 11th to see Rumours of Fleetwood Mac, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band, I couldn’t help but think about all of the tribute band shows I went to as a young child. Somehow my little hometown in Washington pulled in a handful of Beatles tribute bands throughout the years, as well as a few others ranging from The Beach Boys, The Monkees, and Elvis.

A guitarist known for his affiliation with a certain British pop star, a plethora of fans who discovered him through said British pop star’s recent tour, a historic Los Angeles venue with the name “Mitch Rowland” on the top of the marquee sign — this was the backdrop for Mitch Rowland’s headlining show at the Troubadour celebrating his debut album “Come June.”

When I heard that 311 and AWOLNATION were touring together I thought it was such an unusual pairing. Would they have the same fans? I wasn’t sure the very different sounding bands would be a palate best suited for a concert. But the show was a good time. Both bands came out, did their thing and the audience loved it.

Tuesday evening punk-rock fans gathered at The Commonwealth Room in Salt Lake City to attend The Void Eternal tour by Emo-Rapper Joe Mulherin, better known as nothing, nowhere. Before his set, SeeYouSpaceCowboy performed a very intense screamo set. Frontwoman Connie Sgarbossa sang and screamed her heart out. Their music came from a place of pain as they covered songs touching on heartbreak and substance abuse/addiction. While it may not be everyone’s cup of tea the rock fans in the building were loving it! They covered songs such as “bloodstainedeyes” and “Misinterpreting Constellations”.
