Girl power was the theme of the Union Tuesday evening! Fans braved the blizzard and packed into the Union Event Center to watch Tove Lo on her sold-out Dirt Femme Tour.
With a jam-packed All-Star Weekend of concerts, I had the privilege of attending 21 Savage’s concert/afterparty. The event was held at The Union Event Center just west of Vivint Arena. 21 did not come alone, bringing along DJ Drama. DJ Drama is behind a lot of popular songs that are topping charts all over the world. It was really cool to see the crowd this duo brought out to Salt Lake City.
Branson Anderson is a singer songwriter from right here in Utah. We’ve had the privilege of interviewing and covering another EP release a few years ago. Anderson has also appeared on several stages of other bands we’ve covered. It’s been fun having the opportunity of seeing him perform multiple times over the years. I consider myself a Branson Anderson fan. So it was exciting to get the notice that Branson would be releasing a new EP and that we would get to attend this EP release party. The 2023 release titled, Keep It Moving has six songs that will thrill any Branson Anderson fan. It’s likely to draw him a new fan base as well.
Patti LuPone• “Don’t Monkey With Broadway” Tour• February 4, 2023• The Noorda Center

“It won’t be easy. You’ll think it’s strange when I try to explain how I feel…” about Patti LuPone at The Noorda Center of the Performing Arts on the campus of Utah Valley University. What a moment in this venue’s history. To have a legend of the Great White Way grace this young stage is a massive get for The Noorda. But as I’ve mentioned before, this venue was up to the level of the great Broadway Legend and her performance and her still after all these years, powerful voice. The meeting of Lupone’s voice and the acoustics of The Noorda filled the air of the room was a beautiful union.

I got there about thirty minutes prior to the start of the show. Fans ranging from teenagers and up piled into the Rockwell room in the venue. The merchandise table had a noticeably long line!
On January 27th, BOWEN*YOUNG, spent the evening at Sundance Mountain Resort sharing their hauntingly beautiful songs and emotional stories with a captivated audience. The duo formed by husband and wife, Brandon Robert Young, and Clare Bowen, were joined by their equally talented singer-songwriter friends, Amie Miriello, and John Eddie. Together, the artists sat on stage inside the cozy and intimate Rehearsal Hall. They played their songs in rounds to kick off Sundance’s first Bluebird Cafe Concert of 2023.

She has also performed on Broadway in The Bridges of Madison County, Finding Neverland, and the 2015 revival of Fiddler on the Roof. Vosk has also performed concerts in some of the most famous venues across the country including New York City’s famous Lincoln Center and sold out the iconic Carnegie Hall. So having Jessica Vosk here in Utah at the Noorda Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Utah Valley University was a real honor.
When I was invited to review Mariachi Los Camperos I was really excited. Growing up in Southern California, I’ve seen Mariachi bands like many of you might have, at parties, restaurants, and a variety of other appearances. But to see an entire concert of this beautiful style of music was something that I have waited much too long to see. When I heard that this was going to be a Christmas concert I was intrigued. When I think of Christmas music, I’m not sure if Mariachi is the first genre of music that comes to mind. But it was clear very quickly that this night would educate me on just how amazing Christmas music is when performed by a Mariachi band.
On December 16, the multi-talented violinist Lindsey Stirling brought her Snow Waltz Tour to the Maverik Center in West Valley City, UT. Fans ranging in age from toddlers and beyond filled the arena excited for a night of Christmas music and entertainment! Even though I had played (or as my brother would say, “screeched,”) the violin for nearly a decade, for some reason I wasn’t too familiar with Lindsey Stirling. For years, I have heard from many that she is extremely talented and puts on a wonderful show. So I was excited to experience it for myself!

Don’t you hate it when you see someone so talented, so incredibly gifted, and think, “How is this the first I’m learning of this person?” That’s how I felt when I saw American Fiddler, Eileen Ivers. Turns out I’m familiar with a lot of her work. But I’m kicking myself that I wasn’t familiar with her name. However, after seeing Ms. Ivers at the Noorda Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Utah Valley University, I’ll never forget it. Here’s just a snippet from the bio on Eileen’s website. Her accolades are extensive and impressive…
