Maribou State played an energetic show at The Depot on April 23, 2025, while on their Hallucinating Love tour. Their unique sound had the audience living in the moment and gave them a night to remember.

Gizmoe

DJ and SLC based, Gizmoe got the show started with great electronic beats and mixes. The crowd might have been on the smaller side during his set, but it gave the audience that was there lots of room to dance about the venue to his incredible mixes.

Gizmoe had the crowd moving, lots of people were dancing like nobody was watching, and everyone really just let loose and were boogieing about the room. Gizmoe also masterfully was mixing up the songs every time they slowed down to more upbeat and danceable beats, this kept the energy high and the crowd warmed up for Maribou State’s upcoming performance.

Fans of the electronic pop duo Maribou State were ecstatic for their show at the Depot. Maribou State had the crowd dancing all night long, and jamming out to their electronic songs. The electro-dance music that Maribou State plays with the combination of the flashing lights and crowd dancing along makes their shows feel like you just came out of a scene in a movie. The energy in the room was so high, and you could tell that the crowd was having so much fun with this band’s set.

The band is currently touring all around the U.S. and Europe. They came to SLC after their set at Coachella a few weeks prior, and they will continue to hit many major cities and festivals, including Lollapalooza, while on the rest of their tour.

This year, Maribou State released their new album, “Hallucinating Love”, and it has been a massive hit with the crowds while on tour. It’s clear that this album means a lot not only to the audiences but also the band. The electro-pop duo, Chris Davids and Liam Ivory, have been working on this album for a few years and went through lots of unexpected circumstances that made the production process even harder. In 2021, Davids was diagnosed with a rare brain condition that required surgery and limited his ability to dive deep into producing a new album. The band pushed through these challenges and created the hopeful and uplifting album that fans now get to hear and enjoy live.

Maribou State wasn’t alone on stage, they were supported by the wonderfully talented Talulah Ruby, who is their vocalist while on tour, the great and impressive Jonny Cade, and Jonjo from the band Alps 2 played percussion and bass during the show. Ruby’s voice and movements were almost fairy-like and magical, her voice had the crowd shouting excitedly to the impressively high and long lasting notes.

The crowd was really living in the moment, people were swaying and dancing along to the songs with their eyes closed, and most surprisingly there were only a few phones out at the show. It seemed as if people wanted to soak it all in without any distractions, and I’m sure the band really appreciated this as well.

Maribou State’s electronic beat really got the crowd excited, it really felt like a party all night long.
