8-time Grammy-nominated artist, Kaskade, brought Cop Kid and Mr. Tape to perform at the Ogden Amphitheater on June 20th. Both Cop Kid and Mr. Tape are from Utah. The first time that I heard Kaskade was in 2011 with the Song “Eyes” featuring Mindell Gledhill. Having performed around the world on the biggest stages, it was an exciting day to see Kaskade hit the stage here in Utah. Kaskade has been consistent throughout his career, releasing hit after hit, and currently has over 4 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone. He has had an influential career and has had impactful collaborations with artists such as Deadmau5, Skyler Gray, Haley, Meghan Trainor, and Skrillex. It was another warm and soon-to-be-packed show.

On May 31, 2025, Lord Huron returned to Utah for a sold-out stop at Sandy Amphitheater on their Strange Trails 10th Anniversary Tour. For me, it was a full-circle moment: the first show I ever saw at Sandy Amphitheater was Lord Huron, and seeing them again in that same beautiful setting brought back a wave of memories. This was my third time seeing the band—once at Red Rocks and twice now at Sandy—and each time, they’ve left me more impressed than the last.

It was a hot day out at Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre when The Brotherhood of Rock Tour stopped by on Jun 11, 2025. STYX, Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon fame, and Don Felder, former guitarist of the Eagles, brought a crowd of dedicated fans who disregarded the hot temps and focused on the classic songs from these legendary artists. This would be my first show of the summer out at Utah First Amp.  The biggest shows of the summer will be taking place there.  I was excited to be back out there with this show to kick things off.  STYX makes frequent stops at this venue, so it felt like tradition to be catching them there again.

You know that a show is good when you leave feeling like you just had a heart-to-heart with a friend. That’s exactly what Ashe gave Salt Lake City on Saturday night. From the moment her backlit silhouette emerged through the fog on stage, she had the whole room locked in with her captivating presence, voice, and vulnerability.

All the way from New York, Bayside is a rock band that is celebrating 25 years of being a band. Playing over 50 different songs over the course of two days, I was lucky enough to catch day one of their show live at The Depot. With a line out the door, the fans were not quite aware just how much of a great show they were in for that night, and as the doors opened at around 6:30 pm, it was showtime.

Fork Fest is the perfect local festival for Utah bands to bring their music to new and returning fans. Out in the middle of Art Dye Park in American Fork, Utah, Fork Fest is the hottest festival in the county, literally. Though the blazing heat was upon the festival, that didn’t stop some folks from getting out early to support some of the best bands in the state.

Summer is here.  The warmer weather means more concerts.  There are so many shows coming to Utah this summer and anticipation is high for so many of them.  It’s one thing to get excited about seeing one of your favorite bands come to Utah.  It’s another thing when that band was scheduled to play almost a year ago and had to cancel.  That was the case with Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark, or OMD.

There’s something undeniably magical about summer nights at Kilby Court, like an electric and hazy feel that settles in as the sun goes down. I was reminded of that magic at West 22nd’s show on Saturday night.

The Austin-based indie rock band finally made their long-awaited stop in Salt Lake City as part of their Nowhere To Be tour. They took the stage and played a show that was sweaty, loud, and perfect in a way only a summer concert in a tiny, authentic venue can be. With the crowd pressed close under the stage lights and guitars echoing off of the graffiti-covered walls, it seemed like one of those nights that feels like pure summer.
