Roger Waters This is Not A Drill Tour finally happened at Vivint Arena.  Like so many other tours, tickets went on sale two years ago.  And just like so many other tours, the show was postponed due to the pandemic.  But we finally made it.  Truck after truck lined the street outside the arena. More trucks than I think I’ve seen for a tour.  This indicated to me that whatever was going to happen inside was going to be a show of epic proportions.  People filed in through the doors and security checks. 

There was no opener so people were advised to get in their seats early so they wouldn’t miss anything.  At 8:15 an announcement came that the show would start in 15 minutes.  The crowd gave a cheeky groan.  Fifteen more minutes after waiting two years almost felt unbearable.  But everyone was in good spirits knowing they were mere minutes away from seeing the legend of Pink Floyd

The Depot hosted a jam-packed show on September 7^th with openers The Grand Southern and headliner Hanson on their Red Green Blue 2002 Tour.

Joji w/ SavageRealm and Rei Brown• September 10, 2022• UCCU Center

Japanese born singer Joji brought out a massive crowd when visiting the UCCU Center in Orem, Utah. As he continues his Smithereens tour, Joji brought along a few friends to support his performances. For the months of September and October, Joji brings along both Rei Brown and SavageRealm. Selling out very early on, I expected this show to be a fun one. It did not disappoint.

Korn w/ Evanescence, P.O.D.& Dana Dentata• September 9, 2022• USANA Amphitheatre

Nu Metal band Korn has joined forces with alt-rock band Evanescence to create an unforgettable show on their 2022 summer tour. Salt Lake City was lucky enough to be one of their destinations on their 18-stop tour. On September 9th, fans gathered at USANA Amphitheatre to enjoy their highly anticipated show. With doors opening at 4:30 and the first act beginning at 5:30 (much earlier than most concerts I attend,) I knew I was in for a long night packed with live music. Joined by supporting band P.O.D. and Dana Dentata, the evening was full of excitement. Filling the seats and covering the lawn, fans of all ages were ready to be entertained.

Morgan Wallen swept all 19,000 Salt Lake City concertgoers off their feet this Saturday night at USANA Amphitheatre. With openers that started the show and Wallen getting everyone’s energy high made for the perfect country music concert. 

Silverstein and The Amity Affliction w/ Holding Absence and Unity TX• September 3, 2022• The Depot

Silverstein and The Amity Affliction took over Salt Lake City at the Depot. They were supported by Holding Absence and Unity TX this last weekend on September 3, 2022. 

A co-headlining tour is what everyone was wanting to see. Doors were at 6pm, but even by 5, 5:30 the line to get in wrapped down the block. Many wearing The Amity Affliction shirts, anxious to get inside to get the best spot. As doors opened everyone rushed in to get merch as well as those running to the barricade to secure a front row spot. The merch line ran all the way into the doorway where you walked into the venue. 

I Dont Know How But They Found Me (iDKHOW) & Joywave w/ Savannah Conley• September 3, 2022• Sandy Amphitheater

On Saturday, September 3rd, Salt Lake City’s own alternative pop rock band, I Dont Know How But They Found Me (iDKHOW), brought their “Welcome to Hellvetica” tour home to Utah. Co-headliner Joywave joined them, putting on an exciting show at the Sandy Amphitheater. Knowing that iDKHOW originated in Utah, I had anticipated a solid turnout for their hometown concert. I was surprised to see that the crowd was not as large in numbers as I had expected. I suspect the fact that both bands have already performed separate concerts in Utah earlier this year may have had something to do with the lower attendance. Although the crowd may have been small in numbers, the fans there brought big energy.
