Sylvan Esso’s performance at the Ogden Twilight Concert Series was a dazzling display of musical talent and showmanship. The duo of Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn delivered a high-energy set that kept the audience on their feet and dancing throughout the entire show. There was quite a bit of rain leading up to the concert. I think it may have scared off a few fans. The show was sold out, but it looked like some people stayed home in fear of being caught in a major storm. Fortunately for those who were brave enough to show up, they were able to enjoy the show without any major precipitation issues.
One of the highlights of the performance was Meath’s dynamic vocals, which ranged from soft and tender to powerful and commanding. She moved and danced throughout the entire show. Going from one side of the stage to the other. She took the time to wave to specific fans across Ogden Amphitheater. She kept the energy up and the crowd reciprocated the vibe.
Sanborn’s electronic beats and synth melodies provided the perfect backdrop for Meath’s vocals, creating a sound that was both modern and timeless. He seemed to love being on stage and he worked his synth rig, turning knobs, and adjusting levels. He looked like an EDM DJ in a way. It was really cool to see how much fun he was having and how busy the music was keeping him.
The stage design and lighting for Sylvan Esso also added to the overall experience. The use of neon lights created a dreamy and ethereal atmosphere that perfectly complemented the duo’s music.
It was very clear that Sylvan Esso was impressed with the Ogden Twilight audience. Amelia Meath even stated, “Wow! This is such a thrill!”. They were so grateful for the energetic crowd. The audience never stopped moving. The hypnotic beats seemed to possess their bodies and they couldn’t stop until the show was over. I think their favorite moment was when Amelia walked out later in the show with an outfit that looked like a giant loofah.
Overall, Sylvan Esso’s performance at the Ogden Twilight Concert Series was a stunning showcase of their musical talent and artistic vision. It was clear that the duo put a lot of thought and effort into creating a show that was both visually stunning and musically engaging. It was an unforgettable performance that left the audience wanting more.
