Australian musician Courtney Barnett marked her 5th stop at The Depot on her US tour for her newest album “Things take time, take time” this last Friday, December 2nd. I was incredibly excited for this show specifically because she’s the first Australian artist I’ve seen live, and it was my first time photographing at The Depot.

The long-awaited 20-year Silverstein Anniversary Tour finally made its way to Utah, after the rescheduled dates and a revised lineup. It was an exciting night with a setlist stacked with some of the best songs from each band. At first, I was caught off guard when I found out that the line for the shows wasn’t wrapped around into The Gateway like it normally is when there’s a sold-out show at The Depot. However, the line was non-stop the entire night with everyone making their way to the venue.

It’s been another tour that has been a long time coming. Another tour that was affected by the pandemic. I knew it was going to be another tour that was well worth the wait for many reasons. There were five bands on the lineup and all of them were crazy in their own way. It was an insane night. The show was just two hundred tickets away from being a sold-out show. It felt like one the entire night thanks to all the bands, their crew, and all the fans. I was familiar with every band on this lineup. I’ve seen them all perform live more than once. I was certain the energy was going to stay crazy and consistent the entire night.

On Friday, July 30, 2021, The Depot was packed with people. The venue was filled with love and good vibes because of Utah’s own local band, Native Leaves. Native Leaves are a reggae band from the 801 who know how to throw a show! The night consisted of some fantastic openers,  along with the beautiful Analea Brown who truly knows how to own the stage. Her beautiful voice paired with some lovely cultural dancing by her and her crew were so fun to watch! She had the crowd dancing and vibing along with her. She did an amazing job at setting the tone and preparing the crowd for the headliners of the night.

The line went down the street at The Depot for the sold out PMD tour featuring Marc E Bassy. There was an excited energy as everyone filed into their spots. Background music began to play and normally people tune it out but people must have been really excited about the show because every single song was sung along to by everyone in attendance! When “Halo” by Beyoncé played, it was so loud that I couldn’t hear the other photographer next to me!
